Screen Time

Which apps had
your attention.

Apps, durations and an hourly chart, with the apps’ real icons. Nothing to grant, and nothing inside your apps is read.

How it works
01
Use your Mac
It counts the app in front.
02
Hover the notch
Today, hour by hour.
03
See the week
Daily bars, per app.
01 · The week

A bar a day.

Switch to the week for a bar per day. Nothing to grant: macOS tells every app which app is in front, and titles, tabs and content are never read.

02 · Honest

Lunch isn’t browsing.

Counting stops after three minutes without input, and when the Mac sleeps or locks, so a lunch away leaves the hour empty.

03 · Filter

One app at a time.

Click an app and the day or the week shows only it.

Questions
Why doesn't it ask for any permission?
The name of the frontmost app is public information on macOS. notchman only needs that, so it never asks for Accessibility or Screen Recording.
Can I exclude an app?
Not yet. Everything in front gets counted; use the filter to look at one app at a time.
Why do my numbers differ from Apple's Screen Time?
Apple counts differently across devices and includes background categories. notchman counts only foreground time on this Mac, while you're active.
