How it works

Three seconds, start to finish.

  1. 01

    Hover the notch

Rest the cursor on the black bar at the top of your screen. Nothing to click, nothing to remember.

  2. 02

    Pick a tool

The panel springs open with a row of icons. Scratchpad, clipboard, timers, water, habits, all one click apart.

  3. 03

    Get back to work

Move away and it folds back into the notch. No window left behind, no Dock icon, nothing in the way.

Scratchpad · Clipboard

Catch it before it goes.

A scratchpad that saves as you type and is there on every desktop. A clipboard that keeps everything you copied, text, links and files, searchable, one click to copy back. Copying from history never pollutes the history.

  • Autosaves
  • Cmd-A, Cmd-Z, Cmd-V work
  • Search history
  • Password managers respected
  • Files and links

Privacy

Stays on your Mac. All of it.

  • No account

Paste a license key once. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log in to.

  • One file

Everything lives in a single SQLite file in Application Support. Open it with any SQLite tool.

  • No analytics

The app sends nothing. The only network calls are the license check and the update check.

  • No scary permissions

It never asks for Accessibility or Screen Recording. Notifications only if you want reminders.

“I built NotchMan because I kept fifteen tiny apps open to do fifteen tiny things. Now the black bar at the top of my screen does them, and my Dock is quiet again.”

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Does it work on a Mac without a notch?

Yes. On external displays and older MacBooks it draws a small black tab at the top centre of the screen and behaves the same way.

Which macOS versions?

macOS 14 Sonoma and later, on Apple silicon and Intel.

Is it a subscription?

No. One payment, lifetime license, every future update. The key works on up to three Macs.

Where does my data live?

In one SQLite file in Application Support on your Mac. There is no account and nothing is sent anywhere. You can open the file yourself.

What permissions does it ask for?

None to start. Notifications only if you turn on reminders. It never asks for Accessibility or Screen Recording.

Does it drain the battery?

It runs no timers while idle. Watching the clipboard is an integer compare twice a second. In Activity Monitor it sits at zero when closed.

Can I move my license to a new Mac?

Yes. Deactivate in Settings on the old Mac, or just activate on the new one if you still have a free seat.

What if I want a refund?

Fourteen days, no questions. Reply to your receipt email.

Does it track my browser tabs?

No. Screen Time tracks which app is in front, not what's inside it.

What's on the roadmap?

Links, a quick log for expenses and meals, and app-to-category rules so time logs itself. Buyers get all of it.
