The short version: the app keeps everything on your Mac and sends nothing about you anywhere. The website uses privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics.
The app
NotchMan stores your notes, clipboard history, timers, categories, screen time, hydration logs, breathing sessions and habits in a single database file in your Application Support folder. That file never leaves your Mac. There is no account, no sign-in, and no analytics or crash reporting inside the app.
The app makes two kinds of network requests. One is to Dodo Payments to activate, validate or deactivate your license key, which sends the key and your Mac’s name. The other is a check for updates, which sends the app version. Neither includes any of your data.
Payments
Purchases are handled by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. They collect your email and payment details to process the order, issue the receipt and the license key, and handle tax. We receive your email and order details so we can support you and process refunds. See Dodo’s privacy policy.
The website
This site uses cookie-free analytics that record page views and referrers without identifying you. No advertising trackers.
Your rights
Email hello@notchman.com to ask what we hold about you or to have it deleted. Deleting the app’s data on your Mac is up to you: remove the NotchMan folder in Application Support.
